The world is changing, becoming more dangerous, right before our very eyes. There really are no “safe havens” anymore. And, as we become a more “home-based” society, threats are sure to follow us to there - the place where we should feel, and be, most safe. Today’s threats place those people and assets that are most precious to us in jeopardy.
Because the things that we think keep us safe - do not!
Accepting “generally accepted”, Industry standard”, and “best practices” is dangerous. Why? Because they don’t work! Why? Because they look and sound good great to those who need to think they are solutions. Security systems, alarms, cameras, access control, typical training, policies and procedures, emergency preparedness plans need to be completely “rethought” and you need to understand why and actually play a role in rethinking them.
Because you need to change the way that you think!
Why? Because today’s threats, and resolving them, require a completely new way of thinking about them.
Because you need a more insightful understanding and specialized skills!
One of the problems with “traditionally accepted” safety and security solutions is that they make us feel secure but in reality do little to actually secure us. The “why” of this problem requires a much deeper understanding of the threats and victims. Real security cannot be purchased; it has to be created by each of us. Real security is about people, not technology or things.
Because you need the right stuff to read!
To achieve real safety and security, that is, safety and security that really works rather than whats looks and sounds good on paper but will never work when reality strikes, you need to do little more than just read! Everything that you need to master real safety and security should never require you to have to get out of a chair to learn it. It’s really not that difficult.
Achieving real safety and security requires a desire to constantly learn - not only for your own safety and security, but for the safety and security of those that you are responsible for, those most precious to us - our kids and families.
That’s what The Real Security Journal is all about. We seek people that we consider to be very unique and special - those who truly care about safety and security.

If we don’t “believe that it can happen” to us and therefore do little to nothing to ensure our own safety and security, we certainly won’t “believe that it can happen” to those we are responsible for and will do little to nothing to truly keep them safe.
